We are working to build an educational game for children between the ages of 5-12 to raise awareness about mines.
Bosnian fields are littered with mines from past wars, and now pose a serious threat to the safety of its citizens. Children especially are at risk during play. Schools actively teach students about the severity of landmines and how to avoid them. Our goal is to create a cooperative game that will be included in a lesson plan on landmine awareness to solidify the lessons learned in class.
The game tells the story of a group of young children playing with a ball, when the ball is tossed into nearby field. One of the children runs in after it without thinking when another notices a sign marking the space as a minefield. With inclement weather fast approaching, two of the children hurry to find help while one stays behind to watch over the stuck child.
The goal of the game is to reach the landmine help center, retrieve help, and save the child before time expires.
The Liaisons of each team are responsible for keeping their individual groups on task and to communicate progress made with the other groups to keep the project unified.
